Welcome to True North Church Live Event

Our theme for this year is "Open For Business." We're exploring what that means for our congregation, our community, and for each of us individually. Today, we explore the "Faith" business.

Scriptural Faith

Hebrews 11:1 NLT

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

More Faith

Hebrews 11:1 NIV

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

What Faith is not...

Faith is not "fervent hope." Faith is confidence; upon that confidence rests our hope. And, that confidence is in the character of God as expressed in the person of Jesus Christ.

Building Faith

The first way to build our faith is to really know Jesus...not just know about him. We do that by spending time with him. While a "quiet time" is good, the better practice is to develop " habitual, silent, and secret conversation of the soul with God..." -Brother Lawrence-

The opposite of faith is not doubt, it's fear...

Doubt is created by fear. The primary fear of the Christian is that Jesus won't/can't do what he says he will/can do. It's the ongoing question of the Christian's life and it is what keeps us as believers and followers rather than disciples of Jesus.

A Grand Experiment...

Do you have something in your life you depend on? Are you willing to trade it for the opportunity for Jesus to take care of you? This is your chance to exercise faith! Join in the experiment...

Final poll results from last week

Last week our poll was this: I believe the following statement: Do not resist an evil person--Jesus-- The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun--Wayne LaPierre (NRA) Results are... Jesus--44% Wayne LaPierre--56%

May we pray with you...

Is there something you'd like Jesus to do for you? Is there a praise you'd like to share? We'd love to join you...
